Educational Attainment

Poor mental health in early adolescence is associated with lower educational attainment at age 16, even after accounting for various demographic and socioeconomic factors. Children and adolescents with mental health difficulties, particularly those with hyperactivity disorders, are at higher risk of not achieving key educational benchmarks like obtaining five or more GCSE qualifications at a pass grade.
